Gary Walker

gwalker

Munahoo "Hello",

My name is Gary Walker and I just got elected to sit on the North Fork Rancheria Tribal Council. I have been married for 33 years, I have 5 daughters who were all well known in Softball and Soccer. I have lived in North Fork for 32 years and before that I lived in Auberry for 20 years. I am a graduate from Sierra High School, in Tollhouse CA. I started logging when I was 18 years old and that was the start of my long hard laborer career. I then went into biomass chipping giving the materials to the Co-Gen plants. Then I joined the construction union where I worked for the past 15 years. I decided to start devoting my time to our Native people, where I first sat on the Indian Housing Authority board for 3 years as a commissioner, and another 3 years as chair on the housing board. My family has been around the North Fork Mountain Area for a very long time. The Walkers grade was named after my fathers side. My mothers side is known for their basket weaving.
